Make/model/description of scooter(s): 1966 Vespa 150 Super (DR 177 Kit and State of CT "VESPA" marker plate), 1964 Allstate 125, 2005 Stella, 1979 Vespa Grande Moped, 2006 Kymco Xciting 250 and a 1968 Vespa 180 SS to restore by the time I get old!
When and where do you ride: I try and ride all year yet not as much in Jan. – March. I usually ride to work, errands, rides to no where with other local riders, MASSCONNFUSIONSC, Vespa Club of America (which is open to all Scooters!) National Rallies, and CT, MA, RI, NY (City & State) local club rallies. Also Scooter Centrale “Wednesday Night Rides”.
Longest Ride: 190 Miles one-way on my scooter and I did haul my scooter out to Amerivespa 2006 in Denver CO.
How and Why did you get into scooting: My older cousin restored a Vespa GS and the first time I saw it I said "I HAVE TO GET ME ONE OF THOSE!". I had already owned (and still do but I am thinking of selling) a 1979 Fiat Spider 2000. It appears that I love the Italian styling and curves! After seeing my cousins I bought my first (the 1966 Vespa 150 Super from above) Vespa and this was back well over a dozen years ago.
What's in your scooters glove box/stow area: GPS, Cell Phone, Maps, Water, First Aid kit, tie-down kit, Basic “break down parts” repair kit and tools, Gloves and “neck sock”, Insurance and Registration.
Favorite Ride: Tough call but I would have to say my 1966 VESPA 150 SUPER (DR 177 KIT and State of CT "VESPA" marker plate)
Other Vehicles besides the scoot: 1979 Fiat Spider 2000
Favorite Band(s): Too many to list I am very open to all kinds except Rap and Country.
The Last CD/DL/whatever did you buy: “Street Jams” by David Roe. I saw him down in New Orleans a few years ago and I found this CD online recently.
Any Tats: Why? When I can where it on a shirt and change it when I want too.
Favorite Alcoholic Drink: Gin and Tonic
Favorite Non-Alcoholic Drink: Shirley Temple
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you bring with you?
1) Water
2) Food
3) Female
What’s the craziest/stupidest thing you have ever done? Stupid scooter related would be believing a “Vespa of Texas” sales girl (when I was at Amerivespa 2001 in Oklahoma) that the mints she had in a Vespa “mints” tin box tasted just like “two-stroke”!
Explain yourself in a couple of sentences: I never really rode any motorized two-wheeler ever except my mini-bike and I bought my first Vespa and went from there. I love the ride, size, performance, nostalgia, uniqueness, history, rallies, style and actually what cant you love about a Vespa / Scooter anyway.
